A Clevedon engineering company has been given a six-figure investment to buy new equipment.

Automatic Industrial Machines (AIM), which has a branch in Concorde Drive, earned the funding from Lloyds Bank to purchase an Erowa Robotic Cell.

The equipment is used to help loading machinery manufacture aviation and automotive parts.

It is estimated the cell will increase productivity by 200 per cent as it can run 24 hours a day.

Rob Kendall, AIM managing director, said: “Over the past few years we have been taking steps to modernise our business to ensure we can remain competitive and win new client contracts.

“Increasing automation is a key part of this process and, as this means our machines can operate for an extra 14 hours a day, it will have a huge impact on business productivity and efficiency.”
