Villagers will gather for their showpiece event this weekend, which promises to be the highlight of the summer.

Barrow Gurney Flower Show will take place at the village hall, in Barrow Street, on Saturday afternoon at 2.45pm – with a super selection of creations set to be showcased.

Green-fingered villagers will showcase the fruits of their labour, with coveted cups and prizes up for grabs for outstanding exhibits.

In addition to the flower classes, a wide variety of other things will be on show including cakes, artwork, photos and crafts.

The fun will continue on Sunday afternoon with the village barbecue, which will start at the village hall at 1pm and is set to draw a big crowd with plenty of delicious treats on the menu and lots of fun games are planned.

Tickets for the barbecue, priced £7.50-10, are available from The Prince’s Motto, in Barrow Street, or online by visiting www.bit.ly/bgfsbbq2018
