TRAFFIC signal refurbishment works which are part of a £90,000 scheme have started in Nailsea today (Monday, March 11).
The works are being carried out by Yunex Traffic at the junction of Stockway North and Clevedon Road.
The signal controller, signal heads, poles and cabling will be replaced. This is part of North Somerset Council's 15-year replacement programme.
Cllr Hannah Young, North Somerset Council's executive member with responsibility for roads, explained that the work will help traffic run smoothly in the future.
"We appreciate that the work may cause some disruption but we would ask people to be patient while this essential maintenance scheme is completed which will help traffic move smoothly through this junction in the future."
The works are expected to take around three weeks to complete. During that time, temporary signals will be used.
