Somerset has been ranked as one of the worst offenders for speeding fines in the UK.
This is according new research conducted by Moneybarn Car Finance.
It analysed the number of penalties received by drivers in each police force area.
The county has been ranked as the sixth worst, with Avon and Somerset Police issuing 166,781 speeding tickets last year.
This equates to 9,559 fines per 100,000 residents, or 9.56 per cent of the total population of 1,744,800 people.
At the top of the list is Lincolnshire, with 11.52 per cent of its 769,500 residents receiving speeding tickets.
Other big offenders include Surrey, West Mercia, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Norfolk, Bedfordshire, Yorkshire and more.
Meanwhile, drivers in Gwent, South Wales, proved to be the most law-abiding, with only 31 speed limit offences per 100,000 people recorded.
