THE Portishead Probus Club has celebrated its 50th anniversary.

The club held a celebratory lunch at Clarence House on Wednesday, October 18.

The meal was provided by the new management whose recent improvements have coincided with an increase in membership in the club.

Members took a moment to look back on the past, but also look forward to the future of the club.

Those who attended were able to hear a thought-provoking talk from local Minister, Rev. Nick Moxon.

The club was founded in 1973 to offer retired or semi-retired people from a business or professional background the chance to meet with like-minded individuals and relax in a social setting.

New members are always welcome. To find out more, contact the secretary of the Portishead Probus Club, Brian Lazenby, on 07711 385825 or brianlazenby@btinternet.com.

The club meets on the third Wednesday of the month at Clarence House, from 12pm until around 3pm.
