JOHNNY Mars is coming to Nailsea this October.
The American blues harmonica player and singer will be performing at the Tithe Barn on Saturday, October 28 from 8pm.
This free to attend concert is part of a series of events to mark Black History Month.
Residents are urged to book in advance via Ticketsource.
Johnny has a musical career which spans more than six decades. Born in 1942, he has worked with multiple top musicians, such as Earl Hooker, BB King, Jimi Hendrix, Jesse Fuller, Spencer Davis, Ian Gillan and Bananarama.
Town clerk, Jo Duffy, said: “Nailsea Town Council is honoured to have a talented musician like Johnny help us mark Black History Month, raising awareness and promoting more understanding of black history, culture and heritage.
"We have been working with partners - Racial Equality Network North Somerset, North Somerset Council and Nailsea Folk Club - in order to present this cultural event at the Tithe Barn, which promises a pretty unique evening of entertainment.”
