Bouncers pass the test
06 March 2010
SPOT-CHECKS on bouncers in North Somerset's pubs and clubs this week showed that all held valid, legal licences.
Officers from the police and North Somerset Council targeted five venues in Clevedon, Nailsea and Weston after receiving tip-offs that a number of doormen were working illegally.
But of 27 security staff inspected, all 27 passed the checks.
Security Industry Authority head of investigation Paul Cartlidge said: "Intelligence had suggested that there was some non-compliance in the area, so Saturday night's results are positive.
