Nailsea shops celebrate Easter

10 March 2010

SHOP windows in Nailsea will be decorated with differing displays to tell the story of Jesus' life.

During Holy Week, from March 27-April 3, Nailsea Christian Churches will create an Easter Journey in 13 town centre windows.

Each window will feature an installation based on an incident from the life of Jesus and the journey will end at Gilly's Café in High Street.

For example, Trevor Ward shoe shop may feature 12 pairs of sandals in a sand pit to depict the 12 disciples being called to follow Jesus' way of life.

Reverend Steve Tilley said: "This scheme has been compiled with the help of all the Christian churches in Nailsea.

"It is aimed at simply teaching people to engage with the Easter story.

"What we are trying to do is create some link between the products in the shop and the incident the display represents.
